I know alot of effort was made to make Internet Explorer and Netscape compatible in years gone by for the web-designer but it seemed for a while alot of the conflict was deliberate, whatever, it was bloody annoying for the web designers. And it seemed like with the release of Netscape 7 things were almost there, they had introduced a way to view pages as they would look on Internet Explorer but then the Netscape browser was scrapped after AOL bought them out.
Since then the Flock browser has been the natural replacement for the old Netscape user and it's an excellent browser which incorporates technology that links the browser to sites like Facebook and youtube. It's really good, I use it now instead of IE7 which seems to have more and more security issues every day and tends to crash on a regular basis. However, changing browser has brought those old compatibility problems back. AL is 100% aesthetically correct in the Flock browser and about 96% correct in Internet Explorer. And you know what, I'm not going to piss about wasting precious hours making it work on every browser. So I recommend, if you haven't already tried it, give 'Flock' a go! It's run, programmed and operated by the same type of people who create indie sites like this one (ArtistLaunch) and cdbaby, Twitter, Wikipedia, even Facebook... basically anyone who is prepared to compete with Microsoft and AOL. Learn more about Flock here I have tested on Safari and it's ok, except it forces the css styles on most websites to revert to some sort of bold style which looks frankly ridiculous.. still have to check it on Firefox and Opera. |
